Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: When working with SSI as a candidate, what are my financial obligations to the firm?
A: Candidates we select and represent are under no financial obligation to SSI. SSI is compensated directly by our client companies for our services.

Q: What assurances do I have that the reviewing and interviewing process will remain confidential?
A: Since its inception in 1990, SSI has been confidentially representing candidates with our premier client companies. Each of our recruiters has spent considerable time in leadership roles within the hospitality industry. As we have all been in your situation previously, we completely empathize with your concerns, and repeatedly advise our clients on practices to insure the confidentiality of all parties.

Q: If selected as a candidate to be represented by SSI, how can I successfully prepare for the interview process?
A: First, a resume must be prepared, summarizing all current and previous positions and Education, including applicable dates, responsibilities, results, and accomplishments. Three to five business references will also be required and you should proactively request that these individuals allow 15 to 20 minutes for a reference check interview. If sending resume via email, Microsoft Word attachments are required.

Q: How long will it take to identify an opportunity for me, and when will I hear from you?
A: With approximately 20 years of recruiting experience and our long list of established clients, we receive numerous calls from our current and potential clients daily from all over the world. Our software system allows us to match the client's needs with your particular abilities and make an immediate match. We would then immediately call you and share the opening.

Q: When I get a call from an executive recruiting firm, sometimes I never hear back from them. Will you call me when I send you my resume?
A: We are in the business of placing hospitality professionals and clients, not our candidates, pay us our fees. We are not in business of finding people jobs, but rather identifying the best hospitality professionals with the specific needs of our clients. We will make every effort to stay in touch with you, but understand that the frequency of calls is dictated by whether there is an active job order for which you are a match. If you authorize us to represent you on a specific opportunity, we will provide consistent feedback and updates as we receive it from our client.
